About Our Authentic
Named “Best Indian Restaurant” by the Dallas Observer for the past twelve years, India Palace is the area’s favorite destination for exquisite Indian cuisine. We pride ourselves on preparing only the finest quality meals, so much so that we’ve been named “Best” by several media outlets, including the Dallas Morning News, D Magazine and the Zagat Survey, which is based on customer reviews. All entrees are prepared with the finest ingredients that are delicately blended with warm, zesty spices to deliver the full flavor of authentic Indian cuisine. We also offer several gluten-free and vegan options.
Acclaims
Zagat 2017
“The grande dame of Dallas’ Indian food scene”, this Preston Forest landmark offers “generous portions” of “well-prepared, authentic dishes” that offer “just the right amount of spice”; options include many gluten-free and vegetarian choices and a “great lunch buffet”, and the dining room still features a view of the tandoori oven.
Zagat 2011 – Very Good to Excellent
“One of the most reliable Indian places” in the area, this “traditional establishment” in Preston Forst “has been around a long time” thanks to “Authentic, flavorful, and fragrant” fare ferried by “servers who are very nice explaining the choices.” White tablecloths and quiet, subdued lighting exhibit a flair for the atmosphere not seen at some of its competitors.

The godfather of white-tablecloth tikka masala. While India Palace has become an institution in the three decades since then, its owner is always tinkering, revamping the décor, playing with new menu items. That said, Sharma, who also owns the fast-casual Roti Grill in Uptown, knows what his customers want. India Palace is where many had their first taste of the velvety cream-and-tomato masala that so seduced the British. Like the tortilla soup at The Mansion, it’s an icon.

India Palace. Indian food had itself a little revolution in recent years, with cheeky newcomers such as Masala Wok and fusion spots such as Clay Pit. But when seeking classic Indian done right, India Palace is the gold standard.

Classy Joint: Many Indian restaurants make food their primary focus, which is a good and reassuring thing. But in the process, they sometimes ignore the setting. Within its genre, India Palace is uniquely elegant and well-appointed. It’s a professional, well-traveled crowd, far more cosmopolitan than that found in most area restaurants–one more element that sets India Palace apart from the rest.
